King Charles Cavalier Breed Info
The King Charles Cavalier is known as a loyal, obedient and family friendly dog. They love to be with their family and get along great with children, other animals and even strangers. This breed is ideal for their temperament and trainability.
Basic training for these puppies should start as soon as you bring them home. They are very intelligent so training is easy. Cavaliers are easy going, cuddly and not overly active breed that need some kind of activity every day. Their energy level is low/medium and would be perfect for anyone that likes to go outdoors and also snuggle with some down time.
The King Charles Cavalier is a loyal, mellow, lovable breed with all the qualities we love for our puppies! They make great family dogs and do well with kids of all ages. Their friendly demeanor will make for a great service/therapy candidate or simply a wonderful family dog!
King Charles Cavaliers have a beautiful silky coat. Some coats are wavy, some are straight. The fur feathers on the back of the front legs and underbody, with heavier feathering on the chest, back of the thighs, and tail. Cavaliers have several different kinds of coat colors. Tri colored, Black and Tan, Ruby (red) and Blenheim (white and tan)
They should be brushed weekly to stay maintained. They are considered a high shedding dog, daily brushing can help loose hairs out of their coats and off your clothes and furniture.
Breed standards state that height of a Cavalier should be between 12 to 13 inches (30 to 33 cm) with a proportionate weight between 13 to 18 pounds (5.9 to 8.2 kg).
